Ministry of Commerce: Continue to Promote the Implementation and Effectiveness of the "24 Foreign Investment Measures"

       Beijing, February 28th (Xinhua) - According to a roundtable meeting of foreign-funded enterprises held by the Ministry of Commerce on February 28th, most of the measures of the "24 Measures for Foreign Investment" have been implemented or have made positive progress. In the next step, the Ministry of Commerce will continue to promote the accelerated implementation and effectiveness of various measures, conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the implementation situation, and enhance the policy sense of foreign-funded enterprises.

      Last August, the State Council issued the "Opinions on Further Optimizing the Foreign Investment Environment and Increasing the Attraction of Foreign Investment" ("24 Articles on Foreign Investment") to the public. At this roundtable meeting, officials from departments such as the Ministry of Commerce, the State Administration of Taxation, the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the National Immigration Administration introduced the specific implementation of the "24 Measures for Foreign Investment".

      The Ministry of Commerce stated that although the document has only been issued for more than half a year, with the joint cooperation of relevant departments, most of the measures of the "24 Measures for Foreign Investment" have been implemented or made positive progress. Next, the Ministry of Commerce will work with relevant departments and local governments to accelerate the implementation and effectiveness of the "24 Measures for Foreign Investment", listen to the opinions and suggestions of foreign-funded enterprises, conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the implementation situation, continuously improve work, and enhance the policy sense of foreign-funded enterprises.

      Representatives from 9 foreign business associations and over 60 foreign-funded enterprises in China, including the American Chamber of Commerce in China, the National Committee for US China Trade, the European Chamber of Commerce in China, the Anglo China Trade Association, the German Chamber of Commerce in China, the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in China, the Danish Chamber of Commerce in China, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce in China, and the Korean Chamber of Commerce in China, attended the meeting.

      The attendees highly appreciated the tremendous efforts made by the Chinese government to improve the business environment, stating that many measures have directly reached enterprises and achieved good results, which have been widely welcomed by foreign-funded enterprises, further stabilizing expectations and strengthening confidence in investing in China.
